On 19th June, a group of third and fourth year students will be returning to Dublin after last year's success. Students will get to experience the culture and learn about the country through daily field trips to several landmarks. It will also help them boost their English with specially designed morning lessons and their accommodation with Irish families. We are sure this experience will make a lasting impression on all participating students!

Learning tip: Use context clues (Bachillerato)

Context clues are the words around difficult or unknown words we always come across when we read in English. By looking at the context, it is often possible to guess the meaning of the word and save lots of trips to the dictionary! This is a skill you must master for your exams since no dictionaries are allowed. Here are some online activities for you to practise this skill:

World Book Day
2008 English writing winner:
He untied his tie, took off his shoes, undid his buttons and got into the bath. Tonight he was unusually tired, too many patients in one day made eight hours stretch and stretch. When he was young he liked his job, forensic, at least he wasn´t longing for it to end every morning.
He came out of the bath, much calmer now, but he was still missing something before his sleep, to make it easier... He wasn´t used to having dinner, but as a routine, he went to the kitchen, grabbed his favourite bottle of Mexican tequila and sat on the couch. What a satisfaction was to feel the liquid down his throat after such a horrid day.
The alarm clock set off the next morning. He couldn´t remember anything but that was not a change in his life, he preferred it that way. The difference today was that he felt his muscles really stiff and tired and had the feeling that he had been running all night. How strange! Anyways, he put his suit on and drove to the hospital. 9:30 , first corpse. Mr.Smith, Sheriff, arrived and recounted the crime. He listened as if behind a veil, not caring really. He did his work mechanically, with no need to listen to stupid stories at this time in the morning.
When he pulled the sheet off he saw a thin, blonde, stunning woman, all full of bruises and scratches. It was no doubt another of many cases of rape. First thing to do, a DNA check from her insides. While the computer analysed, he went to inspection and found some brown hair. How strange, same lentgh, same colour, same touch as his.
The machine beeped and when he looked into the screen said his name. What was his name doing on the screen?
